BeDimensional (BeD) is a scale-up leader in the development of high-quality Few-Layer Graphene (FLG) and Few-Layer Hexagonal Boron Nitride (FLhBN). The company’s mission is to produce these 2D crystals at industrial levels and at competitive costs, revolutionising the manufacturing sector by enabling more efficient, sustainable and higher performance materials.
Born as a spin-off of the Graphene Labs at the Italian Institute of Technology, a global centre of excellence in materials research, BeD’s deep scientific know-how serves as the foundation for its business plan, aimed at rapidly transitioning to a full-scale industrialization.
BeD patented process produces FLG and FLhBN with atomic thickness, making them the highest quality materials available on the 2D crystal market. These crystals can be easily integrated into any material, imbuing them with multiple properties that improve performance and lifespan.
BeD technologies have been successfully applied across sectors, from energy storage and conversion products to textiles, paints, coatings, resins, and composites. As production continues to scale, FLG and FLhBN have the potential to catalyse a low-carbon future, thanks not only to their inherent properties, but also to their ability to substitute some rare and critical raw materials that are currently bottlenecks in the green transition.

BeD is involved in the morphological and physicochemical analyses of the produced carbon, leading to its valorisation and potential use in formulations of conductive inks/pastes intended for different applications. Furthermore, the produced carbon will be used as starting material to produce advanced graphitic nanocrystals using BeD’s patented wet-jet milling (WJM) technology. Subsequently, these graphitic nanocrystals will be evaluated as active materials or functional additives in relevant applications, such as electrochemical devices or energy storage systems.
In addition, BeD will lead the preparation of a business model study, alongside go-to-market and financial analyses to evaluate the feasibility of the project.
